A gentle reminder for December

It’s coming up to mid-December, mid-week, and I’m seeing more posts about people feeling frazzled, exhausted and ready for a break. That final push before we get some much-needed time off can feel tough, and 2025 has been challenging for a lot of us, myself included.

So today, I’m inviting you to take 5 minutes out of your day and stop. Press pause and let the world carry on around you. 

My go to meditations are from Kirsty Gallagher, who’s meditations have become an anchor for me, especially when life feels busy or overwhelming and which help ground me, create space in my day, and help me recalibrate so I can show up as the best version of me. 

This is my invitation to you today and for the rest of December – take 5 minutes every day, whether you give this meditation a go, or you sit quietly with a cuppa – to let yourself be. We’re human beings, not human doings after all!

If you feel like you “don’t have five minutes,” that’s usually a sign in itself. A nudge to pause and ask yourself whether going into 2026 like this is what you want?

If five minutes feels impossible, it might be time to reflect on what’s taking up so much space — and whether you’d like some support in the new year to create more breathing space and more ease in your life. 

For now though, just take five minutes and begin there. Your nervous system — and your future self — will thank you.
